You are interested in interdisciplinary research and want to pursue a current, original topic with a group of scholars?

The Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF), Bielefeld University's Institute for Advanced Study, offers the opportunity to do just that on its campus by providing:

- financial resources (e.g. for events, accommodation, travel expenses)
- the necessary infrastructure (e.g. conference and working spaces, apartments)
- organisational support
- time and space for in-depth work on a subject

We offer three group formats:

Visiting Groups
Duration: 1 to 3 months at ZiF
Funding Amount: up to EUR 50,000 for travel, accommodation, workshops/conferences at ZiF, personnel expenses cannot be covered

Resident Groups
Duration: 4 to 6 months at ZiF
Funding Amount: up to EUR 400,000 for travel, accommodation, workshops/conferences at ZiF, personnel expenses, e.g. in the form of buy-outs

Long Term Groups
Duration: several visits to ZiF over a period of up to three years
Funding Amount: up to EUR 200,000 for travel, accommodation, workshops/conferences at ZiF, personnel expenses cannot be covered
